Some of the Recent Recruits

Morson Projects has recently accelerated their on a programme of recruiting Graduate and Apprentice engineers to augment our already successful Engineering departments.

The Graduates and Apprentices recruited will form the future engineering delivery team and bring continued success to Morson Projects growth and aspirations.Objective of the ProgrammeTo provide a development programme that prepares the Graduates and Apprentices for senior engineering and management roles within Morson Projects Engineering departments within one or two years.

This will be achieved by:

  • Practical workplace experience
  • Formal training
  • Mentoring with a senior manager
  • Regular performance reviews

Finding the right people is very important to Morson Projects when embarking on the development programme, key qualities our Graduates and Apprentices possess include:

  • A genuine interest in engineering
  • A good first degree and/or Postgraduate degree
  • Personal achievements that distinguish them from the next person
  • Up to one year’s work experience after graduation

Phil Read – Graduate Stress Engineer 5 Years with Morson Projects
(BEng Aeronautical Engineering)

  1. What attracted you to Morson Project on graduating from University? To be part of an SME with a wide range of disciplines and clients.
  2. What support have you been given? I was assigned to a senior stress engineer for mentoring and ‘on the job’ training.
  3. What was your first role?Involved in producing the Check Stress reports for the Nimrod MRA4 aircraft – specifically the engine intake structure.
  4. How has your career developed with Morson Projects? I have taken on more responsibility as my job related experience has increased. Projects I have been involved in include:-
    • Check Stress reports for the Nimrod MRA4 aircraft.
    • Design reports for the trailing edge spoiler support structure on the wings of the Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.
    • Design reports for the trailing edge spoiler support structure on the wings of the Airbus A380 freighter aircraft.
    • Check Stress reports for the Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.
  5. Describe your training and development. ‘On the job’ training in the following:-Stress analysis hand calculations.Finite Element Analysis.
  6. What is your career highlight so far? Most interesting job I have been involved in was the design of the trailing edge spoiler support structure on the wings of the Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.
