Morson Group plc held their annual football day at Old Trafford on May 18th. In excess of 50 clients, Morson employees and celebrities played on the hallowed turf with only one goal in mind, raising money for charity. A cheque for £30,000 was awarded to UNICEF by Ged Mason, CEO of Morson Group plc.
"We organise this day with three key objectives in mind," stated Ged, "primarily, we use it as an opportunity to raise money for one of our chosen charities. However, we also like to offer our clients the chance to play in the Theatre of Dreams, and we use it to reward our staff for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year."
During the day, Alan Keegan, who is the new commentator for Wembley Stadium, compared the event, interviewing the families and co-workers of those playing on the pitch.
The football may not have been to the quality that some Stretford End regulars would have been used to seeing, but there was enough excitement and tension. Four Morson Allstar teams were chosen and the semi finals saw a 3-2 victory for White 1's, followed by a 5-0 win for Red2's. The final saw a penalty shoot out to determine the eventual winners, White1.
