The ‘clean up cup' is an annual event that the Morson Group has hosted for the past three years, in which workers from sellafield ltd and representatives from organisations who supply engineering services to the sellafield nuclear site, compete for the coveted title. The Supply Chain Team won this years event with £400 being raised and donated to the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team.

The wasdale mountain rescue team is a volunteer led charity that serves the area of wasdale and eskdale and surrounding valleys and responds to 999 calls of climbers in trouble. it will use the money raised to fund new equipment, such as land rover ambulances, for the team to continue its work. the majority of the rescuers work at sellafield ltd and donate their spare time to the charity, so events like this are essential in order to ensure the service is continued and that the rescuers have all the equipment they need to continue to serve the climbers of cumbria.

Richard Warren, chairman of the wasdale mountain rescue team said "we were delighted to be the chosen charity to benefit from the ‘clean up cup' event for the third year now.  as a purely voluntary organisation with no government funding, the proceeds from the event make a big difference to our capability to respond to the ever increasing number of accidents on the mountains and surrounding communities we serve.  the money will be put to improving our communication equipment, vital to both saving lives of casualties and the personal safety of our team members who have to operate under extreme weather conditions.  we want to thank all those who took part in the day."
